Games and Movement Form: Required for All 7th and 8th Graders
Every 7th and 8th grade student must have a completed Boys & Girls Club Games and Movement packet on file. It is what allows students to leave campus during the school day for their Games and Movement (PE) class. This is required for all 7th and 8th graders. Please read all pages, complete and sign, and return the packet to the ECMS-Gardena front office by Friday, August 21.

Last year’s theme was belonging, and the growth showed it — our student surveys saw real gains in students feeling like part of the school, feeling safe, and getting help resolving conflict.
Building on that foundation, our priority for 26/27 is stacking good days. Stacking good days leads to stacking good weeks. Stacking good weeks leads to stacking good months. And stacking good months adds up to a great year.
A good day is one where every student gets real opportunities to think critically, sees our four values lived out in the classroom, and feels a genuine sense of belonging and reciprocity.
In practice, that means teachers connecting each day’s lesson to a clear, grade-level goal, building in the support every learner needs to reach it — including students with IEPs and English learners — and keeping the relationships that make belonging possible strong.

These are the five ways we ask every student and staff member to show up for each other at ECMS-Gardena, in class and around campus.
Really listening when someone else is talking — eyes on the speaker, ears open, mouth closed.
Valuing what makes each person unique, and giving feedback that helps others grow.
Noticing and naming each other’s strengths — no hurtful words, gestures, or actions.
Paying attention to what’s happening right now, without jumping to judgment.
It’s okay to opt out of some activities, but every student is expected to complete classwork and contribute to class discussion.
