Complaint procedures
How to file a Section 504 complaint: Complaints alleging denial of a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) or discrimination based on disability under Section 504 should first be directed to the campus coordinator listed above. If unresolved, a formal complaint may be filed through ECS’s Uniform Complaint Procedures. Submit the UCP Complaint Form to the ECS Compliance Officer (Sarah Jamieson) within 6 months of the alleged violation.
Complaints may also be filed directly with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights at any time (contact information below):

How to file a Special Education (IDEA) complaint: Complaints regarding special education programs are not processed through the UCP. They are governed by 5 C.C.R. sections 3200-3205 and 34 C.F.R. sections 300.151-300.153. ECS operates within the El Dorado Charter SELPA. For IDEA compliance complaints, contact your campus coordinator above or file directly with the California Department of Education, Special Education Division at www.cde.ca.gov/sp/se/. IEP disputes may also be resolved through mediation or due process hearing through the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH): (916) 263-0880 | www.dgs.ca.gov/OAH.
