About Camp Woodcraft

Camp Woodcraft is Woodcraft Rangers’ year-round retreat center on 183 acres in Big Bear Valley. Woodcraft Rangers is a nonprofit that has run outdoor education programs for Southern California students for more than 100 years, and the camp is accredited by the American Camp Association, with an EMT on site and all staff trained in CPR, First Aid and Wilderness First Aid.

The 7th grade retreat blends NGSS-aligned science lessons with social-emotional learning and classic camp adventures, led by counselors trained to work with school groups. Students stay in rustic, temperature-controlled cabins with modern restrooms nearby and gather for meals at the Blue Sky Lodge dining hall. The camp also has an outdoor amphitheater, a gazebo and a game room for downtime.

Activities include a low ropes course, a rock climbing tower, archery and archery tag, axe throwing, gaga ball, astronomy hikes and guided nature walks. Some activities may carry an additional cost depending on the program.
