NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Williams Sufficiency of Instructional Materials
This public hearing notice is issued pursuant to California Education Code § 60119.
Purpose of Hearing
Environmental Charter Schools’ Board of Directors will hold a public hearing to receive public comment and to determine whether each pupil at the following ECS schools has sufficient standards-aligned instructional materials, as required by Education Code § 60119 for the following LEAs:
- Environmental Charter High School – Lawndale
- Environmental Charter Middle School – Gardena
- Environmental Charter Middle School – Inglewood
- Environmental Charter High School – Gardena
“Sufficient” means that each pupil has standards-aligned instructional materials to use in class and to take home in the following subject areas: Reading/Language Arts (RLA)/ELD, Mathematics, History-Social Science, Science, and, as applicable for grades 6–12, Health and World Languages.
Hearing Details
The time for the public hearing is August 24, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as practicable, during the Board’s regular meeting held in person at:
Environmental Charter Schools – Home Office

At such time the testimony of all interested persons will be heard. Speakers will be given a maximum of two (2) minutes each to address the Board (non-English speakers utilizing translators will be given a maximum of four (4) minutes each).
Materials Available for Review
Hearing materials are the proposed resolution affirming the sufficiency of instructional materials for the 2026–27 school year (Resolution No. 2026-01).
