On October 20th, more than 300 visitors stepped onto the Environmental Charter High School campus to learn about water. Students were in charge of every detail, including booths, games, presentations and activities meant to educate guests on the history of California’s water, water politics, water desalination, water recycling and how to decipher a water bill.
Representatives from Surfrider Foundation, West Basin Municipal Water District, LA River Watershed Management and Heal the Bay joined our students to bring awareness to the need for water conservation and preservation.
For some of the water saving tips the students shared, read “Go Dirty for the Drought and Other Water Saving Tips.”
This was my first time visiting Environmental Charter High School. I left so enthused. The “hands on” approach to learning was inspiring and enriching.”
