GARDENA — Fans of the classic family TV series “The Waltons” are invited to join members of the cast Saturday night for a fundraiser to benefit Environmental Charter Middle School, which is located in Inglewood and is trying to open another campus in Gardena.
The event at Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles will double as a 40th anniversary party for the 1970s-era show, which garnered strong ratings and ran for nine years.
Kami Cotler, who played Elizabeth Walton — the youngest member in the large family — now works as the principal of Environmental Charter Middle School.
Expected to attend (in addition to Cotler) are actors Ralph Waite, Jon Walmsley, Judy Norton, Eric Scott, Mary McDonough and David Harper, as well as several guest stars.
The aim is to help the public charter school raise enough money to transform an abandoned property in Gardena into a vibrant learning environment for middle school students in the area.
Tickets for the event range from $60 for balcony seats to $300, which includes dinner and VIP access to the after party.
