Sarah Burger is the Handwork Teacher at Environmental Charter Middle School in Gardena. She has taught art in both traditional school settings as well as within non-profit organizations. Sarah is excited to join ECS because she feels aligned with the ECS mission and working towards educational equity both personally and professionally. She hopes her passion for arts and education will help ECMS students further their voice and a sense of self through creativity.
Sarah is a native of Erie, Pennsylvania and received her B.A. in Art from Penn State University before earning her M.A. from The University of Denver. When she’s not teaching, you can often find Sarah creating her own art, working in her garden, or biking around her new home of Long Beach.
