Career Day on our High School Campus takes place on Friday November 9th. Environmental and community leaders from diverse fields come to school to inspire students with stories of their career challenges, epiphanies, triumphs and unforgettable moments.
Speaker volunteers are welcomed and appreciated! We ask our speakers to consider and share what their career looks like through an environmental lens: How does it impact the human or natural environment? Are there policies or actions you or your organization can/are taking to support sustainability?
A resume writing workshop is added to the slate this year to give students valuable tools and skills to enhance their career readiness. Internships will be announced by our community partners, so students better get those resumes in tip-top shape!
Special thanks go to our sponsors and community partners for the event: California Credit Union, U.S. Green Building Council – Los Angeles Chapter, In True Fashion, and Barbara Bishop Public Relations. Our keynote speaker, Victor Rivas Rivers, will share his inspiring story and speakers will connect and enjoy a healthy networking lunch and discussion.
Pedro, a ECHS student shared about last year’s Career Day, “I was amazed to see how a journalist and a reporter are able to cause change and spark a form of revolution!”
And ECHS senior, Jesse, added, “The advice regarding interviews and first impressions will stick with me and be really useful in the future.”
