ECS is so proud of all of our middle school and high school graduates this year. So many memories were shared and we look forward to watching our students continue growing into young adults and environmental stewards of our community.
ECHS congratulated 125 graduates in the class of 2014. 96% of those seniors will go on to pursue higher education starting this fall. Of those, 63% will begin at a 4-year college/university. Some of them are already pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors. We can’t wait to follow them over the years, as we anticipate bold business people, energetic engineers, and awesome artists, who may appear at the ECHS Career Day.
On June 23, 2014, more than 700 students, families, and ECS staff celebrated our second 8th grade culmination at Hawthorne Memorial Center. Many students received academic achievement awards and were recognized for their outstanding leadership. Honor students John Tatsuguchi and Marimar Calisto spoke beautifully about their experiences at ECMS, thanking their teachers and staff for really caring about their success.
Ivana Valenzuela Luna, voted most inspirational speaker, closed out the ceremony with a heartfelt message about the support she has received though trying times. What made culmination even more special was how hard the students worked to meet grade and behavior expectations throughout the school year. They truly deserved to be walking across the stage!
