Environmental Charter Schools creates and delivers vibrant and innovative learning opportunities for our students through the commitment of many dedicated people working in collaboration. These individuals put into motion the mission of Environmental Charter Schools through their hands, feet, hearts and minds. Our Board of Directors works to build the strength, stability and sustainability of the organization as a whole. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you one of our most worldly and energetic board members, Amy Johnson.
Amy Johnson is a world traveler, social entrepreneur, leadership professor and lover of education. Amy has a wealth of experience across industries ranging from consumer products and retail to tech and entertainment. She brings to Environmental Charter Schools (ECS) her expertise in IT Strategies, ERP Implementations and Change Management.
As an ECS board member, Amy values the power of education to transform lives. She was drawn to ECS from the moment she first visited. She was struck by the energy and passion of the students and knew she wanted to be involved. Amy enjoys working alongside like-minded souls on the Board who love education and the environment. Her goal is to bring an outside perspective to the organization, leverage her consulting experiences to help facilitate decision-making and bring positivity and passion to the ECS board.

Amy holds a Masters in Social Entrepreneurship and teaches a course on Service Leadership at Pepperdine University. She has also served on the boards of BookEnds and Social Venture Partners, and she is affiliated with the Pepperdine Board of Visitors and Business Advisory Council. She has become a passionate ambassador for closing the achievement gap and making the environment healthier and safer for children. She believes her purpose in life is to serve humbly, inspire others to love learning, explore the world and savor each day passionately.
