A VAN BRINGS FREE EYE EXAMS AND GLASSES TO CAMPUS
ECS is excited to announce a new partnership with Vision to Learn that is empowering our students to succeed in the classroom by helping them to see more clearly. Vision to Learn is a nonprofit that offers free eye exams and eyeglasses to low-income students through a mobile eye clinic. Vision to Learn estimates that 1.25 million students across America struggle with limited eyesight. By providing access to eyecare, their innovative mobile optometry van is helping youth to excel in the classroom one pair of glasses at a time.
Vision to Learn’s partnership at ECS has just begun. In April, thanks to Vision to Learn, 41 ECMS-G students were given eye exams and 23 students received glasses.
Ms. Torrecilla, ECMS-G School Counselor, shares of the collaboration,
"Our partnership with Vision to Learn has been nothing less than incredible. Vision to Learn’s mission is similar to that of ECMS – to give students the tools they need to succeed in their educational career."
