Office Manager

B.S., Environmental Science, UCLA

Vanessa is the Office Manager at ECHS-Gardena. Vanessa graduated from UCLA in 2021 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a Minor in Conservation Biology as she was driven by her passion for the environment and sustainability. As a first generation student who comes from the same background as most ECS students, she has also found a passion in supporting students to navigate their high school life and helping them achieve their academic goals. She is still undecided on her next steps in life and academic route but loves ECS as it implements both passions that she hopes to incorporate into her life moving forward.

Vanessa has previously worked at ECHS-G as the Safety Coordinator ensuring the safety of the students during COVID as she was exploring the possibility of pursuing a career in Health and Safety. She has also worked closely with the office team and has learned to navigate ways to communicate with parents and families. Before her time at ECS Vanessa interned with the Bay Foundation during her senior practicum at UCLA where she and her team analyzed the ways to mitigate ocean acidification by studying seagrass and kelp in Southern California.

Vanessa looks forward to seeing where her time in ECS will lead her and is excited to see the future of ECHS-Gardena. She hopes to continue to be a part of the expansion and growth of this campus.

In her free time Vanessa loves going to the beach and just spending time outdoors. She loves spending time with her dogs and family
