Jessica Muratalla (she/her/ella) is the Chemistry Teacher at ECHS-Lawndale since 2022. Her key areas of expertise are Chemistry, Finance, and Project Based Learning. Jessica has worked in education since graduating high school in 2008, but is going on her 7th year of teaching high school Chemistry. Previously, Jessica worked in myriad educational positions in Carson, Hermosa + Redondo beach, Lennox, Hawthorne, and El Segundo. She began her teaching career at Da Vinci Science immediately after obtaining her Chemistry degree.
Jessica absolutely loves getting to know students & sharing how Chemistry is intertwined in their lives – she also loves saying bad jokes, periodically. She was born & raised in Inglewood, California (the city of Champions). Jessica deeply values education and opportunities for black and brown students and that is why she chose ECHS as the next place for her to teach & grow.
Her hobbies include being at the beach, hiking/camping, and pretending to work out while eating yummy foods with friends and family. She loves being a tia to her 5 nieces and artistic nephew. Her favorite music include Tove Lo, 90’s + 2000’s R&B, and Spanish to clean on the weekends. Jessica is also very passionate about teaching people (especially women) to budget, pay off debt, and become financially-independent. She looks forward to getting to know you, your student(s), and the ECHS-L community!
