Teacher, ELD/Literacy Coordinator

As a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, the seeds of social justice have always been deeply rooted within Jessica’s life experiences. It was a need to serve that caused her to pursue a teaching credential in English and Social Science as well as Master’s degree in Secondary Education in 2003. Since the completion of her credentialing in 2005 Jessica has worked to inspire the students of ECS to reach their own personal goals inside and outside of the classroom, as an English teacher and softball coach.

Jessica arrived at ECS with a desire to share her passion for learning, and a goal to cause students to question the world around them through the pursuit of higher education. While teaching English, she asks students to consider their impact in the world around them, from a personal, local and global perspective. With an excitement for culturally relevant literature, Jessica seeks to encourage all students to develop a love for reading that fosters success in their futures. In her personal life, Jessica loves to spend time with her family exploring Los Angeles, relaxing at the beach or playing with her son Carter Joel.
