Jen Fenton is the Director of Health and Safety at Environmental Charter Schools. She joined the organization in August 2021 to focus on Covid-19 safety efforts. She understands how experiential learning, coupled with collaborative instruction, can truly make a difference in the communities that ECS serves. Jen believes in education as a means of empowerment in order to reduce inequities and promote independence. Inspired by the interdisciplinary curriculum that ECS offers, she continues to advocate for students to become stewards of the world and leaders of the future.
Jen is an elected official on the Board of Trustees for the Manhattan Beach Unified School District and has dedicated herself to public interest. Prior to working at ECS, Jen was the Associate Director of Development at the Disability Rights Legal Center where she led efforts for disability rights programing and services in California. She was also the Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Cancer Legal Resource Center, where she provided information and legal resources to patients, healthcare providers, and other professionals in the oncology field.
Jen graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Communications, and a minor in English and Legal Studies. She received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Jen enjoys a good workout, cooking dinner at sunset, and spending time with her family.
