Geary Joshua II is a talented, multifaceted educator known to many of his students as Coach G. Students flock to his unique teaching style due to his distinctive personality. Within the last 18 years, Geary has devoted his time and energy to working with the Youth and traveling abroad.
His reach extends beyond the borders of America. Student-Athletes in Belgium, China, Australia, and Dubai have benefited from the abundant knowledge and life lessons Geary possesses. Geary has coached basketball on the professional circuit, college, high school, and middle school levels.
Coach Geary owns and operates a basketball program TrainToGo where he focuses on the academic growth of his student-athletes. He has helped over 75 young men and women attend and graduate college. With his non-profit organization Growing Our Adolescent, the emphasis
on education is heavy and for his players to be more than athletes. Coach Geary leads the way by setting an outstanding example of earning his master’s degree from Concordia University in Athletic Administration.
For the last two years, he worked at Long Beach City College as a Professor teaching Kinesiology and as Head Assistant Coach for the Women’s basketball program. Focusing on player development and skill work, the team improved tremendously throughout the season. Outside of basketball, Geary is incredibly involved in working with at-risk Youth. He partnered with Dream Home Care, a non-profit, where he offered his services as a mentor and group leader. His duties went beyond motivational speeches, assisting with homework, modeling positive behavior, and stressing the importance of education.
Currently, Coach G teaches at Environmental Charter School, where he oversees the 9th grade Achievement Academy.
