Emily Truong graduated from UC San Diego where she engaged in mathematics and started her journey as an educator. Emily was drawn to ECS by their commitment to equity and social justice. She is proud to be part of an organization that empowers all students to succeed.
Emily holds both a B.A. degree in Mathematics – Secondary Education and a Master’s of Education. Emily is passionate about building positive relationships and creating safe spaces for students to grow as both mathematicians and lifelong learners. She believes it is critical for students to find relevance in what they are learning, so she strives to bridge the gap between classroom content and the real world through culturally responsive curricula. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys going on hikes with rewarding views, painting with watercolor, and binging tv shows.
