Attendance Clerk & Parent Liaison
B.A., Sociology, University of California, Los Angeles
Diana Rodriguez is the Attendance Clerk & Parent Liaison at Environmental Charter Middle School-Gardena. Diana is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles and holds a B.A. in Sociology. She has four years of experience working at charter schools in low-income communities of color; from Huntington Park to Inglewood, and now Gardena.
Diana is at ECS because she is passionate about social justice. Her desire to give back to her community drives her to inspire other first-generation students and motivate them to pursue higher education. Coming from a similar background as our students, she knows how vital it is for them to have mentorship. Diana is a native of Gardena, California. She was part of a traditional Mexican dance group, Nuestras Raíces, in Gardena where she dedicated 13 years of performing arts to her community and neighboring cities.
One of Diana’s passions is to travel. During her undergraduate career, she studied abroad in Spain and traveled to Italy. Her favorite childhood memories took place in a small town in Mexico, where her parents were raised. During her free time, she loves to dance, go on a hike with her husky, and spend quality time with her loved ones.
