Daniel Padilla is the founding Ethnic Studies teacher at Environment Charter High School in Gardena (ECHS- Gardena). When he graduated from Lynwood Senior High School, he was determined to make changes in marginalized communities. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills in History and Social Studies Education and attained a Master’s from Pepperdine University in Teaching. 

Daniel has worked in the education field since 2018. His career began as a teacher assistant with the Los Angeles School Unified District where he collaborated with different grade levels and course subjects. He served as a long-term substitute teacher with the Lynwood Unified School District, working closely with the middle and high school classes. 

Daniel is at ECS because he believes in the organization’s mission and core values of building community, sustainability, and creating culturally responsive curriculums. He is excited to be part of a supportive community that empowers students to find solutions to social and environmental issues.
