Beronica Miranda graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2008 with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in education. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher and while at UC Santa Cruz she began tutoring students at a local high school. It was through this experience that she decided she wanted to work with students with special needs. Soon thereafter, Beronica joined Environmental Charter High School as a para-educator. Beronica earned her M.A. in Education and Change and also her Education Specialist Instruction credential at Antioch University in 2010. That year, she became the education specialist at Environmental Charter Middle School. Beronica has always been passionate about the environment and has practiced saving water and recycling. She has five dogs and a bird. She enjoys running and sewing. She once traveled to Costa Rica to teach orphans life skills.
