Zena Fong is the owner of Zena Fong Educational Consulting, a business that focuses on identifying a student’s college experience needs and helping target specific colleges that align with those goals. She also specializes in helping students with college sports recruitment. Zena received her College Counseling Certification from UCLA and currently supports Environmental Charter High School with running the College Scholars Program, helping senior high school students with the college application process. She joined the Environmental School Board in October 2017.
Zena has volunteered at various philanthropies and schools for over 20 years in her community. She is a member of National Charity League, a mother-daughter organization that promotes community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences. Through NCL she has taken on the role of mentor to young teen girls and is currently a philanthropy liaison for the city of Hermosa Beach. At Pacific elementary school in Manhattan Beach, Zena developed a “hands-on” Science Night program that promotes scientific discovery for students and their families. This program is now an annual event and is in its 10th year.
Before moving to the United States, Zena studied at York University in Canada where she received her degree in psychology and sociology. She started her career in advertising and soon moved into various positions in public relations and special events. She worked for the Toronto International Film Festival and was associate producer of their film and television business conference.
She is married with two daughters.
