Dr. Jessyka Ramirez-Holden is the Assistant Principal at Environmental Charter Middle School – Gardena. Prior to coming to ECMS-G, Jessyka has 8 years of experience teaching ELA and Social Studies while holding teacher leadership positions as dean of student engagement, department chair, and grade level chair. As a social justice educator, her educational philosophy rests on her belief that every student is an agent of change with the academic ability to change the world. She also has a passion for community engagement, which led to involvement in her neighborhood council. As a board member, she effectively fostered community partnerships with stakeholders to leverage resources for the school community.
Jessyka was drawn to ECS’ mission to provide an equitable education for ALL students through a social justice education. She is excited to join the ECS family to help prepare students to be conscious critical thinkers who are equipped to create a more equitable world.
Jessyka is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and holds a Bachelors in Political Science. She also earned her Masters in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University with an emphasis in Policy and Administration. Her passion for educational equity lead to the attainment of her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.
