Rachel Goodman joined ECMS Inglewood staff in the Fall of 2018. She began her teaching career through the Teach For America program, where she served in Dallas, Texas. There, she discovered her passions for social justice and educational equity. After her two years of service in the TFA corps, she moved abroad to China, where she taught local and foreign students at Qingdao No. 1 International School. There, she established her skills implementing project based learning and Inquiry based instruction. She is experienced teaching students from many cultures and is well trained in EL instructional practices.
Rachel was drawn to ECMS because of the unique emphasis on the environment. She was also attracted to the school’s creative extracurricular activities and sustainable initiatives. The ECMS compost pile is pretty impressive!
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys many pastimes, including painting, rock climbing, yoga, cooking (mostly because of the eating part), and reading adventure memoirs. She loves to try new things, except skydiving. No thanks!
