Rachael Adsila is the Alumni Coordinator at Environmental Charter High School. She has always had a passion for the creative empowerment of others through art and education. Rachael has been involved in grass-roots community movements utilizing the arts and/or education since high school. Rachael has championed underrepresented populations through teaching, coaching, training, program development and building communities for the success and sustainability of students. Rachael is most noted for her work at UCLA as a Student Affairs Officer, her responsibilities included managing a residential program aimed to support students with intellectual disabilities. Rachael was nominated for the Dean’s Exceptional Service Award for her work with students and went on to receive the Dean’s Exceptional Service Award for her work in creating a professional development series for her team.
As a first-generation student, Rachael has experienced many of the unique challenges that face many students today. After earning her BA in Psychology with a minor in Fine Art, graduating Cum Laude from HBCU, Lincoln University in PA and later earning her Masters in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute in NY. Rachael is committed to ensuring the success of those who are underrepresented.
Rachael continues to coach, train and work as an artist and therapist. She regularly volunteers with Family Promise and serves on the Board of Directors for I Choose Love Inc., a startup, faith-based non-profit dedicated to creative training for worship, education and economic development in Uganda.
As the new Alumni Coordinator, Rachael is excited to build a strong program and utilize her many connections with local and national organizations and universities to grow the ECHS Alumni network through education and employment.
