Instructional Coach

BS, General Math, UCLA
M. Ed, Social Justice Emphasis, UCLA

Monique Evans has enthusiastically taught mathematics since 2004. From introduction to Algebra through Advanced Calculus, she shares her passion of mathematics with her students. Since 2011 she has taught precalculus at ECHS, and has now added the role of Instructional Coach to her list of responsibilities.

Growing up in a socioeconomically disadvantaged area, Monique was one of the first in her family to go to college, and had a strong desire to help students like herself. In her previous teaching experience at Leuzinger High School, she coordinated and taught the AVID elective program where she learned to help students become more successful in high school and gain acceptance to 4 year universities. Monique was drawn to the ECHS community because of the focus on helping all students get to college, and the tight-knit group of teachers and students. She loves the community and collaboration among staff and students.

Monique loves yoga, trivia, and discovering new restaurants in Los Angeles! As a social butterfly, she loves to plan activities to boost staff morale on campus. She loves math, and is a self-proclaimed math rockstar! If Monique could have a meal with anyone, it would be with Pierre de Fermat because he is her favorite mathematician.
