Jose Hernandez is the Special Projects Manager at the ECS since 2021. He previously worked as the Campus Operations Coordinator at the Geffen Academy at UCLA.
Jose is at ECS because he wants to be part of an organization dedicated to helping students from low-income communities of color break the cycle of poverty through education.
Jose volunteers with the Young Center For Academic & Cultural Enrichment, a program in which he participated as a high school student. He has served as a program facilitator for their California Youth Think Tank Leadership Program and also as a judge for their speech competition. The Young Center For Academic & Cultural Enrichment focuses on helping youth from underserved communities grow and gain confidence by having them learn about and debate complex social issues that often affect their communities directly.
Jose has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and he is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Diverse Community Development Leadership from the California State University, Northridge.
