Arlene Santiago is the Office and Food Coordinator at ECMS-Gardena since August 2021. Arlene has six years of experience working with children in addition to providing administrative and clerical support. Previously, she worked for S.T.A.R. Education at an LAUSD elementary school site. In her role at S.T.A.R., she supported students during the school day while serving as Director of After-School Programs. She also taught a small cohort of preschoolers during the pandemic.
Arlene is at ECS because she enjoys working with children and helping to guide them. She believes all children can pursue education and become leaders to create the best future for themselves.
Arlene graduated from UC Riverside with a Bachelors in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. While at UC Riverside, she served with AmeriCorps for one year and tutored children during and after school. Arlene will begin taking prerequisite classes at Cal State Long Beach this upcoming spring and work towards a teaching credential.
Arlene was born and raised in Inglewood, California. She enjoys hiking, watching Dodger games, and spending time with her husky Ari.
